Question

I read this somewhere today and was thinking about it..

"If you were stuck on an elevator with Jesus, and knew you'd have a few hours before they could get you out...what one thing would you want to talk about?"

If you could talk to Jesus about one thing--what would it be?

Honestly.

If you're reading this please answer with a comment. If you don't want me to post your comment then just say so and I won't. But I'm really curious as to what you'd ask him.

The thoughts been running through my mind and I think I know what I'd ask him and want to talk to him about, actually there are a number of things. I think...

No, Justin it's not what I'm sure popped into your head about what I'd want to ask him so don't even ask. =P

Ming, you asked us to leave a comment on this post as we read so i'll take a spin on this one for a few...

i'm a GO Team regular and if you arent real familiar with that one of the materials we go through is the "Spiritual Survey" to get people relaxed so we can then delve deeper into other material. One of the survey questions is paralel with yours: "if you could ask Jesus one question, what would it be?" I personally have had many various answers from people to this question, ranging from the profound to the absurd, but one that stuck out to me was simply, "why?". This may sound like a stupid, generic question, as it did to me, but as i began to question the man i was talking to, a methodist, he began to explain that he had had much suffering in his life (he'd watched his mother die of cancer, his daughter was struggling with terminal illness, he had a very hard, taxing job, and much else) and even though he trusted and obeyed God in everything, still he was wondering, "why". I'd say that would be my question as well - there is so much to ask Him that 3 hours in an elevator would not come close to answering even a portion of the questions. As He knows our thoughts anyway, we dont have to ask him one question - we can let our pain, sorrow, grief, anger, and loss out in just one word - "why". And He has the perfect answer. Ask Him about it :-p
